One of two books I highly recommend on the subject of web usability. This book is short and to the point so read it and you will be all the better skilled in this area.

One of the books I have read on CSS. It covers some good topics, but by no means does it include everything. I recommend reading at least 2-3 different CSS books to get a better understanding of it's power and how to use it.

As a web designer, you will eventually run across a request for designing a blog or maybe you want to design one yourself. Learn the art of blogging to understand its intricacies so you can not only become a better blogger, but a better blog designer.

Because neon green and black don't work as good as they did in 1995. This will expand your mind on how you normally think about colors so read it. A side effect of learning how to use colors better is that your clothes will start matching too!

You can never have too much typography books, especially good ones that have been updated and speak in a way that the rest of us non-graphic design students can understand.
