It's a bit too heavy and doesn't have the smooth motion of the Canon lenses, but you can't beat the price and it's about a thousand times better than the kit lens.

I've only used this a few times, for indoor low light shots, and I'm very pleased. It's a bit too large to take with me out into the world, but the smaller ones are too flimsy to hold the camera. I think I need a monopod next...
