A fairly new action/violent film. Based on the Frank Miller graphic novel. Stars many gorgeous men, especially Gerard Butler! Yow-wheeeeeee!

This was an edge-of-your-seat movie! Wow! Denzel told Jay Leno that he made the movie for his son, who wanted to know why daddy wasn't an action hero.

I have seen this movie several times and appreciate it more with each viewing.. Will Smith is superb in portraying a mushrooming anxiety, justifying his fear of just-how-this-situation-will-turn-out. Later that anxiety morphs into Cool Hand Luke. Hackman is also a master actor.

A wondrous pairing of Mira Sorvino and Chow Yun-Fat, a handsome, underrated actor. Why wasn't there a follow-up movie with these two?

It has been my belief for a long time that the only way to deal with abusers is to, well, get out the sling bade. Thornton as the neighborhood watchdog. Uh huh.

Jack spent time in the desert morphing from evil into a strong man. When fate necessitates his morphing back into violence, doing so is not a stretch. A fabulous film about man's innate evil and his constant striving to rise above it to be good. One of my favorite films!

The alien's relentless campaign to mate brings unsurprising violence. "Don't judge a book by its cover" has never been truer.

Frances McDormand certainly earned her Oscar in this role of plodding sheriff, crime solver of major proportions, all the while toting the weight of a nine-month fetus. This was an amazing film!

Travolta and Jackson's supreme acting as business-like assassins. Was Tarantino the beginning of a new era in violence? His was certainly an unabashedly candid vision.

A perfect film with Crowe deserving of the Oscar. One of our great violent films.

No Uma as a big yellow banana in this one. My favorite part is Hanna flipping through her notes on the black mamba, all the while as Marsden is dying. For these amoral people violence is not gratuitous, but necessary.
