Get a monopod, hide far away, zoom to 400MM, put it on your 30d and they won't even know you are taking their picture. Remember, with a 1.6 crop on an APS-C sensor like a 30d, 400MM = 640MM!

Cheap, light, small, and very sharp. A great "disposable" lens to pop on a body and walk around without carrying a lot of weight. Also a good portrait lens - on an APS-C camera, it is an 80MM! Perfect for portraits!

| Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras
Buy new: $599.60 / Used from: $450.00 I had one - and I sold it. A great SHARP, light, and cheap (for L glass) lens. I had overlap with the 24-70 and 100-400, so I didn't need it, but it is a great walk-around lens...and many will say it is Canon's sharpest telephoto zoom.
