The Nikon F4 is the last of the legendary Nikon F pro cameras to use dials and knobs instead of buttons and menus! This makes it one of the most intuitive advanced cameras ever made. While it works with newer autofocus (AF-S) lens, focusing isn't as fast as on more recent cameras (and VR doesn't function); however, no other Nikon F series body offers such complete support of older manual Nikkors.

The F100 has much of the F5 capabilities with less bulk (the battery grip is an add-on, not integral as with the F5) and for a corresponding lower price tag. But if you'll want the battery grip anyway, get the F5.

This 28-200mm (G version) is a very sharp with a extremely useful range for film (full-frame) photography, plus near macro close focusing. Amazingly tiny and light, too. Highly recommended.

Both the N75 and F5 can make use of the latest lenses, like this VR zoom featuring Nikon's image stabilization technology. VR gives about a 3 stop advantage (meaning you can hand-hold exposures down to 1/15 sec or so), but VR doesn't of course freeze subject motion. If you take pictures of children or sports action, you need fast lenses and/or flash, plus suitably fast film.
