![]() | Edward Scissorhands (Widescreen Anniversary Edition)
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.99 Beautiful, funny, emotional, and entertaining. Easily one of Burton's best.

![]() | Big Fish
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $2.04 More fantasy than gothic comedy, Big Fish is carried by relatable characters and a sad but moving story.
|
![]() | Sleepy Hollow
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $3.28 Visually stunning, with a fast-paced mystery and a dark overtone. Johnny Depp plays a cartoonish and comedic role that fits quite well and brings a lot to the movie.
|
![]() | Beetlejuice
Buy new: $11.49 / Used from: $5.99 Beetlejuice is about as Burton-ish as movies get. It's dark, but lightheated, and has quirky stop-motion monsters and gothic sets. This is very fun.
|
![]() | Pee-wee's Big Adventure (Widescreen)
Buy used from: $11.70 Tim Burton's first theatrical film, this is very fun, and still holds up as an entertaining, lighthearted movie.
|
![]() | Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $5.24 The look and feel of Sweeney Todd are amazing, and this totally earned its Oscar for Art Direction. The acting is great and the voices, though not powerful like the voices from the play, still work. Not overtly funny like most Burton movies, but it still has some nice comic touches. Though it's very good, I enjoyed some of the other "not as good" movies more.

![]() | Batman (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy used from: $23.00 The best Batman movie until Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. Gotham City is beautifully crafted, and the simple but satisfying story doesn't drag. Michael Keaton was the best actor to portray Batman until Christian Bale.
|
![]() | Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $5.49 / Used from: $0.49 Suprisingly, this is a very good movie. I didn't expect it, but this holds up best as a family movie, unlike some of Burton's others, which seem to dark for kids. I like this better than the 70's Gene Wilder version because it is more accurate to the book and moves along with the story from the beginning.
|
![]() | The Nightmare Before Christmas (2-Disc Collector's Edition + Digital Copy)
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $16.99 Tim Burton did not direct this movie in the end because he was tied to Batman Returns, but he is responsible for the design and story, so of all of the movies he has produced, this is the one he can most take credit for. A fun cult classic, it is has an amazing look, but the story is a bit slow.
|
![]() | Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (Widescreen Edition)
Buy new: $9.49 / Used from: $1.99 Like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this surprised me. It is very fun, and looks great. It's not deep or moving, and it's too dark for young children, but is still fun.
|
![]() | Mars Attacks!
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $2.22 Underrated. The design in this movie is great, even for Tim Burton standards. This holds one of the best casts to ever be seen in one movie. Yeah, the story isn't amazing, but there are lots of laughs, and the enjoyment factor of this movie makes me recommend it.
|
![]() | Batman Returns
Buy used from: $16.19 Great acting, great look, but somehow not as good as the first Batman, and definitely not one of Tim Burton's best. This is still quite a bit better than the following Batman movies in the 90's, but is nothing to get excited about.
|
![]() | Planet of the Apes (Special Edition)
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $1.49 Tim Burton's worst movie. Great designs, which obviously had a huge amount of effort poured into them, but the story is not very good, nor is the acting.
