Selected for the 10.2 MP, price point, & strongest reviews. Final kicker was the SD format -it fit our other products.. D60 sounds like it would be the same Not disappointed at all, but the "AF-S only" limits functionality of many lenses. This is the only thing which makes me want a D80.

I WANT THIS !!!! 6/11 - I GOT THIS !!!! Some will find the limitations of this lens, but I have no complaints. If I ever get the chance to use higher priced glass - maybe I will. Even then, you can't beat the flexibility. 10/26 -- still love this lens

11/10: Yep - got it after running out of options on the SB 400. This does more than you can imagine. Why is it so expensive? Well, it more like a camera --just with a strobe instead of a shutter. Downside: it's big - this rig is going to stand out in a crowd & give me a reputation ... so be it.

For the price -- cool... no more running back to the camera

Excellent book. It finally made me understand how it all comes together (f-stop & shutter speed). It also made me learn how to do all that stuff on my camera - making the Digital Field Guide (below) all that more useful. . Get this book

See below. found out these two books are a set, not an update from 1 to 2. The presentation is about 200 pages of 30 second lessons. Overall, very quick read, good suggestions and tips.

I got a couple "newbie" tips I can really use & a lot of ideas to think about

Very good for fixing some bad pictures. Love the organizer. 10/24 - this is worth the time and investment. Remember EVERY great photgraph has been post processed (even if it is just a crop). This will do most of what anyone would need - at the home it's more than enough.

Don't have this yet, but now I want it.... Now that I know how to use a DSLR, this has some big advantages. More pixels (i.e. more cropping opportunity), a better sensor, and I like the interface better (more buttons for key features - easier to adjust). The movie would help, too. I have kids. If your going to push creativity side - this looks like it's worth it over the D40/60.
