A must have. An excellent starter kit. The 18-55 lens that comes with this kit is a great first lens and takes excellent photos.

Buy new: $488.08 / Used from: $418.99
A must have. The kit lens is great, but this lens has a greater zoom range, and the Image Stabilization allows you to hand hold the camera 2-3 stops below what would normally require a tripod.

Hoya 72mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.Hoya 72mm DMC PRO1 Digital Multi-Coated UV (Ultra Violet) Filter.
Buy new: $73.35 / Used from: $50.00
A must have. Get one of these for each of your lenses and leave it on all the time. It will protect your lens front element. You can buy cheaper UV filters, but why would you put cheap glass in front of your camera? Stay with Hoya, Coken, and Tiffen filters, and you can't go wrong.
Hoya Moose 67mm Warm Circular Polarizer Glass FilterHoya Moose 67mm Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter
Buy new: $49.40
A must have for outdoor photography. A circular polarizer will give you control over reflections and glare. This filter will give you white clouds and blue sky. The Moose filter is made from 81A glass and is really two filters in one, a polarizer and a warmer, correcting the bluish tint caused by the polarizer.
Manfrotto 190XPROB 3 Section Aluminum Pro TripodManfrotto 190XPROB 3 Section Aluminum Pro Tripod
Buy new: Too low to display
A must have. You want a tripod that is light, but sturdy. I recommend avoiding a tripod that has a center pole that moves up and down, as this is less stable. You want your camera on the top of the legs for the most stability.
Canon Remote Switch RS60 E3Canon Remote Switch RS60 E3
Buy new: $24.38
A must have when your camera is on the tripod. You can use the camera's timer, but this gives you more control over when the shutter is tripped. Very important when you are shooting a sunrise or sunset, as the light is changing quickly. The timer costs you seconds during which you may miss the perfect shot.
