Buy new: $366.00 / Used from: $558.00 The EOS 5D has no built in flash, so a serious flash is required. This is one of the best speedlites canon offers.
This flash, combined with the 24-70 lens, the 70-200 lens, the 4Gb CF cards, and the EOS5D rounds out my basic wedding kit.

Buy new: $1,289.00 When I am ready to expand my "basic" wedding kit, this would be the next lens to buy, giving me more breadth at the wide end for those big family shots.

Buy new: $1,282.98 / Used from: $1,045.00 Stage three of the wedding kit would add this lens to my gear. This lens would see little use except in those situations where I might be shooting the crowd from above. And this would be a fine lens for when I just wanted to go out and shoot birds for fun.
This puts me right around 10 grand. Anything after this would be fast primes for other sorts of work.

Buy new: $344.08 / Used from: $299.00 I know Tamron gets a rep for el-cheapo lenses, but this one is a fine lens, and in situations where I might need an assistant to help me shoot, this would be a great lens to have on the XTi while the 24-70 is in use on the EOS 5D.
