Buy new: $150.55 / Used from: $122.50 You'll need something wide and this new version of this lens with the IS (Image Stabilization) does the trick. Don't get the one that comes with the camera unless they are offering this version with the IS...chances are you'll save money and get the right one if you buy separately.

Buy new: $287.95 / Used from: $269.00 lastly, you'll need a telephoto zoom...something with reach. Of everything I read and researched this is the one. Best bang for the buck. Check out the images on Flickr...really nice shots, nice DOF etc. Unless you want to get into the L lenses or the version that is an f/2.8 (over $500), this is a great place to start.
