Will stop scratches, and trap gunk
I purchased this product to keep my Sansa View scratch free and dirt free. Of course dirt will accumulate, but it is easier to clean some hard plastic than the Sansa View.

Unfortunately, hairs and other debris will invariably fall in between the Sansa and the case even after the case is closed over the Sansa. Worse yet, there appear to be micro fractures in the plastic which cause lines across the display screen that can be distracting. Whether these came with the case as it was shipped or if they came about later is unclear.

Overall, I still think it is better than leaving the Sansa unit exposed to the nicks, cuts, and scratches the world has to offer. There may be better solutions than this particular product.

Waddya want for six bucks?
Okay, so one corner of the case didn't quite snap together when I put the Sansa View in the case (minus one star), but the case seems to be holding tight, and the clear case covers everthing but the controls and plug-in ports. And of course the clear case protects the screen without obscuring it.

For me, one of the main attractions was the clip that you can optionally attach to the back. Most of the time at the gym or out walking, I don't have a shirt pocket to put the View in, so with this I can clip it to my waistband, belt, or the neck of a t-shirt.

The case also comes with a quick-disconnect lanyard, though the clip is all I need.

I don't know if this case would protect the View if dropped on a hard floor, but it will definitely protect it from scratches and potential minor dents, and the clip and lanyard should make dropping it less likely.
