Powerful optics Great images start with great optics. The new FE-340 has a 5x optical zoom made from precision-crafted lenses that put you 60 percent closer to the action than 3x.

Face Detection Face Detection tracks faces within the frame and automatically focuses (Face Detection AF) and optimizes exposure (Face Detection AE) for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures. Even if your subject is moving, the camera continuously tracks your subject's face without having to press the shutter button.

Digital Image Stabilization Mode and Edit Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) freezes the action with high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds to prevent blurry images often caused by a moving subject. The FE-340 also features Digital Image Stabilization Edit, which uses a built-in gyro sensor to track camera movement and enables users to fix blurry images right in the camera.

Fantastic Camera!
I absolutely love this camera! I'm not a camera person and have very little experience taking photos (usually with disposable cameras). However, this camera is super easy to use and after playing with it for an afternoon I had some really good shots. When I finally take time to study the instuction book & learn how to use all the features I know I'll be a pro! The display screen it just the right size (some are too small) and is very clear when viewing your shots. One of the features on the camera is for taking pictures thru glass. I lined my camera up between the slates of the blinds so they weren't visible and took numerous shots of my sister's dog sunning on the deck. You absolutely cannot tell it's taken through glass. I am actually buying the same camera in pink for my sister for her birthday because she had so much fun with mine. I would definitely recommend getting the 2GB picture card for the camera to increase the memory. For approximately $20, it's well worth it. I would also recommend buying thru Amazon - I searched high & low for the cheapest price on this particular camera and nobody beat Amazon. I know you'll love this camera if you give it a "shot"!!!
