Amazon.com Product Description
With 4 GB of built-in memory, the Samsung S5 represents the second generation of Samsung’s portable media players to come with a built-in speaker. With the S5, users will still enjoy the high-quality 1.5-watt speaker (the same speaker that came with the S5's predecessor), which can slide open or closed to offer a choice between a portable device and a desktop speaker system.

The built-in FM tuner will scan the entire FM range in less than 60 seconds and automatically place the available FM stations into presets. To eliminate stations with marginal reception, you can adjust the sensitivity to only preset stations with strong reception. The S5 comes with a built-in microphone so you can record live sound, such as an important lecture or your neighbor's garage band, as an MP3 file. MPEG4 video files are the most common open video format available today, and the S5 comes ready to play MPEG 4 files right out of the box. Samsung multimedia software included with the S5 transcodes video files on your PC before transferring to the S5, so files on the S5 play at an optimal frame size and rate with minimal effort from the user.
Samsung multimedia software also can assist in transferring JPEG images onto the S5 for later viewing. Once on the S5, images can be zoomed and re-centered. Any JPEG on the S5 can become the wallpaper during music playback. For added user convenience, the S5 is compatible with music subscription services, such as Rhapsody, Napster, and Yahoo!. The player supports MP3, AAC, and WMA audio files, MPEG 4 video files, and JPEG photo files. Compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems, the S5 measures 3.78 x 1.83 x 0.58 inches and weighs just three ounces.

AWESOME!!!!
I just bought this for my dad's birthday. Of course I had to play with it, so I loaded some songs and a a few pictures of my daughter on it for him. I love it so much I'm going to get one for me. The sound is great, and the headphones will blow you away. I say don't blow your money on apple products, Samsung is the way to go.
Great Improvement over k5
this mp3 player has everything that you will basically use. over 4gigs of memory and you can listen to your music, view your pictures clearly, and watch your videos in almost-great quality. sooo many things to do with this mp3 player.
only problem that i have is that it's a little slow when you use the touch buttons.

Wouldn't load Library Audiobooks
I bought the YP-S5J AB specifically to play audiobooks that can be downloaded from the local library. This model was on a list the library made of devices that worked with their files, so it does work for this purpose sometimes...just not for me. I spent about three hours trying it various ways, downloading firmware, and double-checking with the library to see if I missed anything (The books played on my computer fine, so it wasn't a problem with downloading from the library). I would get the error message "It is not possible to transfer this file. Contact device maker for firmware update." I then spent half an hour on the Samsung Technical Support Line. The only thing they could tell me was to go to website and download any firmware updates, which I had already done (twice) so I am returning it. I also didn't like the design of the device with regard to its actual usage (turning on, selecting music, etc.) Using the push screen felt akward and I had to press the "buttons" multiple times before it would take, although maybe this would improve as you used it longer.
