This kit is used to soften the light output of your shoe-mount style flash. Includes a LiteStand and hardware for stable light placement. The face of the Small LiteDome is 16 x 22 inches. The diffusion face is easily removed, allowing you to go from soft, diffused lighting to high-contrast without changing your setup. Small LiteDome soft box works with our small Dome Accessory Kit and small Grids (available separately), giving you great control over light direction.

Backet hardware a disappointment2
The stand is a good compromise between weight and durability. The softbox is easy to set up and solid feeling, though the casting of the ring is a bit rough. The bracket that holds the box to the flash and stand is complete junk.

Since that bracket is the important bit of this kit, I will focus on it. I hope its still usable on my unit which I have done a total of ONE short shoot with. The stud which goes into the umbrella swivel doesn't bottom out where it should, doesn't hold tight to the bracket and breaks loose causing the flash and softbox to rotate randomly. It got pretty bent up in the ensuing crash (which THANK GOD didn't have my SB-800 on it at the time). I think I've straightened it, it is soft metal and bends easily. I put locktight on all the threads, since NONE of them stayed down in an acceptable fashion.

I might expect this sort of trouble with a cheapo Chinese knockoff. I've always thought of photoflex as being pro gear, and am sorely disappointed in the bracket which makes this lightkit otherwise so useful. I should NOT have to use locktite on threads of "professional" lighting gear!

Great accessory for the serious photographer4
This is an extremely portable unit that is easily transported to location. The soft box works well with my Canon 430 EX flash operating as a slave. The connector and mount are professional quality. The stand itself is adequate, somewhat light weight. This rating would be 5 stars if it weren't for the mediocre stand. Nonetheless, I consider this a good value for the price.
