Cost no object?
It's big, it's expensive, it's heavy, and it's the best. If you can afford it, and don't mind carrying it, then join those who are in the know. It's all I expected after my research, and I expected a lot. I moved up from the nice Sigma 12-24.

Choose this lens with a D700 or better
I was in RITZ camera talking about my D80 and I was shown a D700 with this lens. We then put the same lens on my D80. OMG! NO COMPARISON. You got much more field of view with a D700 or better.

The D80's processor/field of view was much smaller compared to the D700 and this lens.

The rep (who is a semi-pro photographer) recommended this lens with the D700 or better because of this.

the BEST wide angle lens, ever. SHARP, good color and contrast. just be careful of the exposed front element as it does not take filters.
