Customer Reviews
Good price, required a bit of work.
As my original Canon lens hood had been broken (entirely through my own fault), I couldn't justify the expense of another Canon brand lens when the Precision Design on Amazon looked to be an exact replacement. The item was shipped quickly, and on initial inspection, looked to be 'equal' to the Canon item. However, as soon as I tried to put it on the lens, it was obvious something wasn't quite the same. The two small friction clips inside the hood immediately popped out. I eventually managed to secure them via two tiny drops of super-glue, and it now works perfectly. However, I've no real idea if this is a permanent solution or not.
For being just a hood...
...it does its job. I'm using the ET-67B with the Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens.
pros
- sturdy
- finish matches Canon SLR body
- lower cost
cons
- the fit isn't very snug, it jiggles a wee bit
lens hood
I bought this for my EF-S 70-300 for use on my Canon XSi, it works great and is a fraction of the cost of other similar hoods.
