Customer Reviews
works great
It works great in my Canon 40D. They were pricey when I bought it, but they will come down as they get bigger.
failed after less than 2 months
Worked fine for less than 2 months in a Nikon D300.
Nikon started displaying CHA errors, which are compact flash read/write errors. I could force an error by doing a 6FPS burst of RAWs. It takes longer to fail with jpegs.
Replaced the card as a test w/ sandisk ultra II, which works fine. Problem follows the card. The extreme IV won't format in Windows at all any longer -- windows utility actually locks up after saying "format did not succeed"-type message.
Sandisk has yet to issue an RMA, despite it being about a month into the process.
fat 32 only
i had a persistent i/o error when trying to write to it on my computer (try drag and droping a file to it). i purchase it with the iv reader as a package thru amazon. turns out it has to be formated using fat32 (32 bit file allocation table in MS windows) which has a lot of overhead so you don't get 1.9 mb usable. anyway sandisk tech support was helpful and they spoke california english and i did't spend all day on hold. i don't know if this problem (or requirement) is a function of the 1394 port or a sandisk requirement. in any case it would have been nice to know the downside details before purchase.
so if you want to write to it on your pc, format it with the fat32 format on your pc before putting it in your camera.
