Great helper for low angles
The Seagull angle viewfinder exceeded my expectations. It's main quality is the clear picture without any loss of light.
The 2x zoom will help in the focusing process though you won't be able to see the camera's viewfinder display, but that is a small drawback.
Its compatibility with different cameras is great and it has fit all the SLR-s tried so far.
If you are not bothered by its somewhat loose build (rattles a bit) then there is no reason to pay up to 4x more for an original camera angle viewfinder.
So sum it up, I am very satisfied with this product and it has made my life a lot easier when looking for those nice low angles to shoot from.
right angle finder
i've had the seagull right angle finder for about a month and have found it to be more than satisfactory. it works well - comes with numerous adaptors to fit a variety of cameras - and it cost about a third of what the brand name angle finder cost. i thought it was well worth the money. however, don't count on the instructions to help you at all. they are completely useless, but using the angle finder is pretty much cut and dried - it's easy to figure out what you need to do to use it. i do encourage you to take the time to read the instrcutions as they're pretty funny.
Seagull Right Angle Finder
I am very happy with my purchase of the Seagull Right Angle Finder. It seems to be very well made. The image in the view finder is very bright and clear; although, at this time, I question the usefulness of the 2X setting. The angle viewer also rotates 90 degrees for vertical framing.
The Seagull has several adapters for different camera brands - Minolta (Sony?),Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Leica. I have a Minolta X700 and a Canon EOS Elan 7ne. Without any adapters, Minolta is the standard fit which makes sense since Seagull had a license to build cameras based on Minolta designs in China. I don't know whether it will fit on Sony's SLRs. The Canon adapter slides within the arms which mounts it to the Minolta viewfinder; it fits well with the Canon.
Don't bother trying to understand the instructions or do; they will brighten your day. They are hilarious! The instructions are written in broken, scrambled English. I went to their web site and the guy who wrote the text on the web site should have written the instructions in the box. Just slip the thing on your camera and play with it.
Purchase the Seagull. It is much cheaper than your camera's manufacturer's view finders and it is well made.
