Customer Reviews
outstanding re-release
as others have written, this long-unavailable album is fantastic, as a live performance it's the equal of Waiting for Columbus or Ella in Rome. It has been one of my favorites since the 60s. Rawls is in amazing form/voice -- there's no other sound like his. Highlights: The Girl from Ipanema and Shadow of your Smile.
Took a great album and made it excellent!!!
I am gald that they FINALLY released this LIVE! album as a CD. It took years, and it was almost worth the wait. They to a classic piece of musical history and not only made it new, but made it better by including some new dialogue, but a little; enough to make it worthwhile to buy the CD, even if you already have the album. Also the mastering of this CD is excellent too, of course. Enjoy!!
Awesome Vintage from the Master
I have been listening, grooving to and praising Lou Rawls for over 40 years,
to say the least, a/the Master in his field. This album , incidentally, I'm not sure I still process but on the insistence of a peer, just "rediscovered", is by far the epitome of Lou's greatness. All songs and performances pure classics. Thanks Lou for the awesome run...
