The Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip is designed specially for the EOS Digital Rebel XT camera. The BG-E3 holds up to two NB-2LH battery packs or six AA batteries to offer double-length shooting time. The vertical shutter release makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally. This grip provides additional controls for easier vertical shooting including shutter release, AE lock/FE lock, index/reduce button, main dial, AF-frame-select button, and the aperture/exposure compensation button.

It's great!
I was really glad to find this here at Amazon, because our camera is a couple of generations back, so most big box stores don't stock it or any of its accessories anymore. We really like this grip, because it makes it easier for someone with larger hands to hold the camera. Also, you can use regular batteries instead of relying on just the camera battery. We are very happy with this purchase.
How did I like my camera without this?
I'm really just writing here to echo everything everyone else has said about it making the camera easier to hold.
I have a mid sized lens on the camera most of the time and I feel like Im just holding the lens with a little camera stuck on the back of it.
With this grip I am much more comfy holding the camera body itself with both hands.
Battery life is a bonus naturally... especially with IS.
Biggest drawback for me is that the camera will not fit in the holster case that I recently bought and I really loved that holster. Sigh.

I highly highly recomend this product. feels great product. This is something people should invest it especially for holding the camera right. I have a Canon XTi and it feels so much better with it on. No joke. everyone should get one. Trust me you would love it
