Absorbs the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. A muliti-purpose fine-weather filter for color as well as black and white films. Also serves as a permanent lens protector. HMC (Hoya Multi-Coating) These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. Customer Reviews
No glare, no flare
The debate on whether to mount filters on modern day DSLR lenses goes on. I tend to use filters, but not the cheap knock-off models. I've had no issue with glare, or flare, using the Hoya on a Nikon 70-200 VR.
For me, it adds protection for the front lens element from dust and other elements.
I have taken photos with and without filters under varying conditions and have seen no negative effects on the photos when using filters.
Recommended for those who choose to use filters.
Great quality - multi coated is a must
The Hoya is affordable and seems to be very good quality
This was the most affordable "multi-coated" filter I could find to protect my lens. The next time you're in a camera shop, do a visual comparison between a single and multi-coated filter.
My order with Amazon shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition
Here's an intersting discussion "Do I need multi-coated filters vs mono-coated?"

would buy again
This is a great product, so far no problems. I use it on a Canon 16-35 2.8/L. I will probably buy other filters from Hoya in the future.
